Sample Submission Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite laboratory role

Laboratory testing operations provide sterility, bacterial endotoxin, microbial detection, beyond-use dating, and active ingredient potency testing for customers.

What you will do

• Receive, unbox, verify, label, log, organize, and route incoming samples.
• Maintain accurate sample traceability from receipt through the start of testing using a computerized tracking system.
• Maintain sample release logs and handle sample disposal according to laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and laboratory waste procedures while maintaining clean and organized receiving areas.
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, mail distribution, inventory restocking, and general laboratory housekeeping.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams about sample inquiries while managing interruptions and working with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone communication.
• Detail orientation, self-starting approach, flexibility, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Entry-level computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet applications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or sit at a computer for extended periods.

Nice to have

• College degree, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, technical training, or Certified Pharmacy Technician qualification.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification.
