Sr. Plant Quality Engineer

Location: On-site in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 5 days per week

Annual base salary: $81,800–$146,720

What you will do

• Develop, implement, administer, and maintain quality management system procedures and work instructions.
• Provide daily Quality Engineering support on the manufacturing shop floor and participate in MDI and SQDIP meetings.
• Analyze manufacturing defects and prepare recurring KPI charts and quality reports.
• Participate in MRB, deviation, and non-conforming material processes, including disposition decisions.
• Investigate root causes and drive corrective and preventive actions for internal issues and customer complaints with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations.
• Support continuous improvement, process optimization, and periodic reporting of key manufacturing quality issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies.
• At least 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment supporting the factory shop floor.
• Practical knowledge of Lean principles, quality systems, and QMS improvement in an ISO or similarly controlled environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, use measurement equipment, and investigate issues involving design, tolerancing, equipment, and suppliers.
• Understanding of BOMs, routings, standardized work, process maps, production layouts, and time studies.
• Experience with Quality Engineering tools, APQP principles, ERP, PLM, and QMS systems, plus strong project management and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, electrical cable and harness assembly, and packaging processes.
• ASQ certification such as CQE, CQA, or CQT.
• Familiarity with Oracle, Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or ETQ.
