POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, designing, engineering, and manufacturing combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for aerospace, defense, and autonomous applications.

What you will do

  • Perform advanced simulations for gas turbine combustion systems, including high-Mach combustion environments.
  • Apply CFD methods to combustor aerodynamic design and optimization.
  • Contribute to the design and development of propulsion modules, components, subsystems, and full systems.
  • Use 1D and reduced-order tools alongside high-fidelity CFD for system-level analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on design, analysis, and validation.
  • Support engine and component testing through pre-test prediction and post-test analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in gas turbine or combustion system development.
  • Strong understanding of combustor aerodynamics and combustion fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with CFD tools and methods for gas turbine combustion systems.
  • Solid knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing and developing gas turbine combustion systems.
  • Experience with afterburner and ramjet propulsion concept development.
  • Familiarity with high-Mach combustion environments and scramjet technologies.
  • Experience with 1D or system-level simulation tools.
  • Exposure to engine or component testing and validation, or defense-related combustion systems.
