TL;DR
Cybersecurity Analyst (NIST/CMMC): Analyzing security events, vulnerabilities, risks, and compliance evidence across corporate, engineering, and regulated aerospace environments with an accent on incident investigation, remediation tracking, and audit-ready documentation. Focus on threat hunting, translating NIST/CMMC and government-control requirements into practical actions, and protecting CUI and export-controlled data.

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance and access to export-controlled information; applicants must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary: $95,000–$125,000 USD base salary per year.

What you will do

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts, endpoint and identity events, email-security findings, and other signals.
  • Investigate suspicious activity, document findings, recommend remediation, and escalate incidents.
  • Analyze vulnerability scans, endpoint posture, configuration gaps, and control weaknesses.
  • Partner with IT, networking, cloud, engineering, and system owners to prioritize and track remediation.
  • Maintain security plans, POA&Ms, control evidence, risk registers, procedures, and remediation documentation.
  • Support threat hunting, audits, tabletop exercises, user awareness, and secure handling of CUI and sensitive government information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cyber analysis, IT security, vulnerability management, security operations, IT compliance, GRC, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of security operations, endpoint security, identity security, vulnerability management, incident response, and risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, NIST 800-53, DFARS, ITAR/EAR, CUI, or similar regulated-environment controls.
  • Experience creating or maintaining security findings, evidence, POA&Ms, procedures, control narratives, risk registers, or remediation trackers.
  • Prior DoD, federal, aerospace, defense, or government-contractor experience, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, GRC, ticketing, or cloud-security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Splunk, Tenable, Rapid7, ServiceNow GRC, Archer, or Drata.
  • Experience with Microsoft GCC High, Azure Government, FedRAMP, GovCloud, or secure collaboration environments.
  • Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, CISA, CISM, CRISC, or CMMC RP.
