Cobol Developer and Support (COBOL)

Location: IOI City, Putrajaya, Malaysia; fully onsite Monday to Friday, 5 days a week.

What you will do

• Enhance system configurations and develop new features for COBOL and mainframe applications supporting business operations.
• Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system and production issues, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
• Ensure application performance, quality, responsiveness, and stability.
• Maintain and improve code quality, including automation of testing processes.
• Analyze technology trends and identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and business productivity.
• Create and maintain accurate development and production support documentation and procedures.

Requirements

• More than 6 years of development experience, with a strong understanding of development processes and prior technical lead experience.
• Proven experience as a COBOL Developer or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and batch and online processing environments.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and TSO.
• Understanding of legacy system modernization techniques.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology or a related field; alternative learning paths such as bootcamps may be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting production systems and business users.
• Experience in finance, banking, or insurance industries.
• ITIL certification.
• Familiarity with IBM RTC tools.
