Senior Software Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid schedule with 2 days working from home, 3 days in the office, and flexible hours. Malaysian citizens only.

Salary: Up to MYR 10,000 per month.

What you will do

• Define solution designs and system architecture for customer-facing and backend applications.
• Design and develop scalable, high-performance, low-latency systems for mission-critical applications.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and align technology strategy.
• Develop end-to-end solutions across mobile and client applications, backend services, databases, APIs, and stored procedures.
• Ensure software quality through code reviews, unit and integration testing, and Agile practices.
• Manage documentation, troubleshooting, monitoring, production support, releases, application security, SIT/UAT support, and technical issue resolution while collaborating with product managers and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in Agile environments.
• Extensive Node.js experience for REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
• Extensive AWS experience, including Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Strong experience with serverless architecture using AWS Lambda.
• Solid understanding of system design principles focused on scalability, reliability, performance, and non-functional requirements.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, Git, and automated testing.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, and WebSockets.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
