Developer Advocate (AI)

Location: Menlo Park, California; Ontario, Canada; Toronto, Canada; Bellevue, Washington

Salary: $122,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Create documentation, quickstarts, tutorials, code samples, demos, and reference applications for developers and data practitioners.
• Translate complex AI, data, and application-development concepts into practical learning experiences.
• Prepare launch assets, test developer journeys, identify friction, and contribute reusable patterns, templates, and playbooks.
• Design and deliver workshops, hackathons, talks, hands-on labs, technical walkthroughs, and customer-ready demonstrations.
• Gather and synthesize developer feedback, adoption metrics, and community insights to improve onboarding, documentation, APIs, tools, and developer experience.
• Represent the products in developer, data, AI, and open-source communities and share emerging needs with internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong technical foundation and experience building software products through prior roles, internships, coursework, open-source contributions, or substantial personal projects.
• Hands-on experience with developer tools, APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, source control, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with modern AI development, including prompting, grounding, evaluation, RAG, agents, tool calling, or LLM APIs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to present and facilitate technical sessions for varied audiences.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, learn quickly, take ownership, collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, and iterate based on feedback.

Nice to have

• Internship, co-op, or project experience as a software, data, ML/AI, or solutions engineer.
• Experience with a cloud data platform, including Snowflake.
• Knowledge of SQL, ELT/ETL, notebooks, dbt, data science, or application-development workflows.
• Contributions to open-source projects, technical blogs, documentation, videos, or developer communities.
• Experience organizing hackathons, meetups, workshops, student clubs, or technical community programs and measuring their adoption.
