Salary: $131,000–$184,000 per year, plus potential stock options.

What you will do

  • Develop reliable flight software governing spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operation throughout the mission.
  • Write structured bare-metal, RTOS, and Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
  • Own software design, testing, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Capture requirements and perform initial design trades for open-ended spacecraft problems.
  • Support flight software development through testing and flight operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to communicate, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
  • 3+ years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
  • Strong C++ development experience and understanding of core language concepts.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.
  • Experience with software testing, verification, and validation.

Nice to have

  • End-to-end experience building and launching a spacecraft.
  • Experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems or aerospace safety-critical software.
  • Experience with CCSDS telemetry and telecommand systems, F' or cFS.
  • Experience with Python or Rust.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, SPI, I2C, CAN, or EtherCAT.
