Alpha/Beta Programme Technical Specialist (Quality Assurance)

Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom. Hybrid working with office attendance generally expected Monday through Thursday; Fridays are generally flexible for remote work.

What you will do

• Lead concurrent Alpha/Beta technical programmes for hirify.global devices and software features, defining scope, roles, entry and exit criteria, risks, and progress tracking.
• Recruit, onboard, guide, and motivate external testers across demographics and experience levels throughout pre-release testing phases.
• Conduct internal acceptance testing, reproduce and triage reported bugs, and escalate actionable issues to engineering.
• Use AI, automation, surveys, and data analysis to organise feedback, identify trends, generate reports, and support product launch decisions.
• Coordinate device procurement and distribution, external vendors, partners, and customer validation activities.
• Maintain programme communication and metrics, provide stakeholder updates, and feed insights back into product development and design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Programme Management experience and 2+ years of Quality Assurance, technical specialist, or engineering experience, including the ability to reproduce and triage bugs.
• Direct experience running Alpha/Beta or other pre-release testing programmes with external testers, or equivalent customer-facing technical support or engineering experience.
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies, test case creation and execution, and build, test, and release stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience building AI tools, automations, or workflows adopted by a team; ability to analyse data and create queries, reports, or dashboards.
• Extensive experience with Jira, Confluence, and project management software, plus strong analytical, communication, negotiation, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering products or features in consumer electronics or streaming media.
• Experience with data-centric tools or Centercode.
• Familiarity with streaming devices, smart TV platforms, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and casting.
• Ability to lift and move TVs up to 50 inches and use basic tools such as a cordless screwdriver.
