Software Test Engineer (AI)

Location: St Paul, Minnesota, United States. Monday through Thursday are onsite with colleagues; Friday offers a choice of work location.

Annual base salary: $78,723.33–$109,655.00.

What you will do

• Perform manual functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and end-to-end testing for web and mobile applications.
• Design test cases and plans, execute test cycles, document defects, validate fixes, and maintain traceability and test summaries.
• Validate APIs, backend workflows, business processes, UI behavior, data flows, and integrations across systems.
• Test AI-enabled features by evaluating generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, consistency, reliability, fairness, privacy, and safety.
• Perform prompt-response testing for generative AI features, including standard, edge-case, and negative scenarios, and investigate hallucinations, bias, and unsafe responses.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, QA, and project stakeholders on acceptance criteria, quality standards, risk assessment, release validation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
• 5+ years of software testing experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on automated testing.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and experience with ATDD, automated unit testing, and BDD.
• Experience testing in cloud and AWS environments; knowledge of HTML, CSS, JSON, SQL, API testing, and GUI automation.
• Experience creating and executing automated tests with Selenium, Nightwatch, Cypress, or similar tools; Java preferred.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday in St Paul, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• Experience with Postman, Karate, or similar API testing tools.
• Strong query skills with relational and NoSQL databases, including Dynamo or similar technologies.
• Experience collaborating with offshore teams.
• Knowledge of building systems, facilities management, HVAC equipment, or BAS.
