Specialist Charge Revenue Integrity (Remote)

Location: Remote within the United States; conditions reference Livonia, Walker, and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Salary: $25.0209–$37.5313 per hour

What you will do

• Research, collect, analyze, and distribute operational and performance reports.
• Review charts, nursing notes, physician orders, progress notes, and specialty documentation to validate and extract patient charges.
• Verify the correct patient, encounter, date of service, modifiers, and documentation for captured charges.
• Perform CPT and ICD-10 coding, charge entry and approval, quality reviews, pre-bill edit resolution, and claim denial review.
• Support charge capture, reconciliation, error management, charge master processes, and complex surgical or specialty coding.
• Educate clinical and ancillary staff on accurate documentation, charge capture, and revenue integrity.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in healthcare, business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Required coding credential such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC, AAPC, or another coding certification.
• At least three years of relevant coding and charge control experience in a hospital or physician practice environment.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, revenue codes, modifiers, charge master maintenance, clinical billing, audits, and revenue cycle operations.
• Knowledge of third-party payer rules, electronic charge documentation and billing interfaces, charge reconciliation, and error management.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States.

Nice to have

• CDC healthcare compliance certification.
• CHRI certification or membership.
• Knowledge of APC, OPPS, OCE, CCI, DNFB, and clinical documentation improvement processes.
