Location: Philadelphia, PA, USA; eligible for hire in select U.S. locations. Field-based role requiring approximately 70% travel with overnight stays.

Salary: USD 185,000–210,000 yearly

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for the assigned geographic area and provide scientific expertise in ophthalmology, retinal disease, and neovascular age-related macular degeneration.
  • Conduct compliant scientific and medical exchange with healthcare professionals, KOLs, professional societies, health systems, payers, and advocacy organizations.
  • Develop and track strategic KOL engagement plans, account profiles, and clinical insights related to patient care pathways and innovative therapies.
  • Deliver clinical, scientific, value, and evidence presentations to healthcare providers, medical groups, formulary committees, and community organizations.
  • Support clinical programs, investigator-initiated trial proposals, sponsored clinical trials, medical meetings, congresses, and scientific booth activities.
  • Document unsolicited medical information requests, report field insights, manage territory travel expenses, and collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, implementation, and commercial teams.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree required, such as OD, PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, DNP, or NP/PA.
  • MSL track: at least 2 years of MSL experience, including at least 1 year in ophthalmology. Senior MSL track: at least 5 years of pharmaceutical experience and 3 years in rare disease or ophthalmology.
  • Strong scientific, clinical, and business acumen with the ability to interpret and present complex scientific, value, and evidence data.
  • Experience engaging KOLs, healthcare providers, payers, formulary committees, health systems, and professional societies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, networking, public speaking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently, approximately 70%, including overnight stays, is required.

Nice to have

  • Prior product launch experience.
  • Experience sharing scientific content with payer systems.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology screening and wellness programs.
  • Experience with institutions and clinics in assigned geographies.
