Associate Director, Communications (Diagnostics & Healthcare)

Location: Fully remote, working from a home office or other suitable remote location.

Salary: $115,000–$145,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Shape and execute thought-leadership and proactive PR programs focused on diagnostic genomics, rare disease, and healthcare priorities.
• Write op-eds, bylines, keynote scripts, executive messaging, and other strategic content.
• Secure media coverage, speaking engagements, awards, and visibility opportunities across healthcare, digital health, policy, podcasts, and social media.
• Partner with medical affairs, clinical leadership, policy, operations, advocacy, brand, and marketing teams to develop aligned narratives.
• Prepare executives with briefing materials, talking points, and strategic narrative guidance.
• Track communications metrics, coordinate vendors, manage invoicing and budgets, and improve operational efficiency using an AI-driven approach.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in communications, ideally in healthcare.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong long-form executive or mission-driven storytelling.
• Experience engaging clinical, policy, or scientific stakeholders and working with journalists.
• Ability to simplify complex science and healthcare policy for diverse audiences.
• Strong strategic thinking, writing judgment, executive presence, and hands-on execution skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage shifting priorities.
