Lead Software Engineer (Embedded Computing Software)

Salary: $108,900–$145,200 per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, integration, and testing of complex embedded computing software.
• Analyze product plans and requirements, create software specifications, and support bids and proposals with engineering estimates.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware development, and technical teams to create sustainable solutions and resolve software and hardware issues.
• Implement and debug bootloaders, Linux and VxWorks device drivers, embedded applications, test software, simulations, and production-test software.
• Diagnose advanced defects, respond to customer issues, and implement software enhancements.
• Contribute to software design documentation, test documentation, and user manuals.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Department of Defense clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive software development experience, including ownership of complex applications or subsystems, plus software project leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with C/C++, real-time embedded software, Linux, VxWorks, device drivers, scripting, Python, LabVIEW, and IPMI.
• Experience with Intel x86, ARM, AMD Zynq MPSoCs, embedded protocols, laboratory debugging equipment, and development tools including GCC, CMake, Yocto, Vivado/Vitis, and Petalinux.
• Experience with requirements management, source control, issue tracking, software verification, DO-178C, CMMI, and cross-functional technical problem solving.

Nice to have

• Advanced technical degree.
• Familiarity with GreenHills Multi, COSMIC, ClearQuest, VectorCAST, virtualization concepts, and the LynxOS Hypervisor.
