Program Manager, GNC Software (Aerospace)

Salary: $199,000–$248,800 base pay per year

What you will do

• Own the GNC integrated master schedule, work breakdown structures, milestones, dependencies, and readiness gates.
• Coordinate GNC work across Flight Software, Systems Engineering, Flight Test, Powertrain, Certification, and program leadership.
• Lead program reviews, sprint ceremonies, milestone gates, action tracking, RAID management, and risk mitigation.
• Manage GNC software releases, HIL/SIL test infrastructure, flight test readiness, and aircraft-level design reviews.
• Track headcount, contractor spend, tooling, simulation infrastructure costs, budgets, forecasts, and estimates at completion.
• Coordinate FAA certification activities, compliance matrices, DER reviews, SOI audits, configuration management, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 10+ years of project or program management experience in aerospace, aviation, or defense, with exposure to GNC, flight controls, avionics, or embedded flight software.
• Strong knowledge of GNC fundamentals, including flight control laws, state estimation, navigation filters, and autopilot architectures.
• Experience managing complex hardware/software programs with regulatory constraints and interdependent workstreams.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent scheduling and agile tools.
• Experience supporting DO-178C, DO-331, or ARP4754A certification activities.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Controls, or a related field.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master certification.
• Hands-on experience with GNC algorithm development, HIL/SIL environments, or flight simulation platforms such as Simulink, FlightGear, or X-Plane.
• Experience in eVTOL, UAM, advanced air mobility, or Part 25/Part 23 aircraft programs.
• Familiarity with MBSE, requirements management, EVMS, and earned value reporting.
