Sr. Systems Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Newark, Delaware, United States, or Marlborough, Massachusetts, United States

Annual base salary: $97,600–$152,700, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Define system requirements, use cases, interfaces, architectures, subsystem breakdowns, and control documents.
• Lead cross-functional technical alignment across hardware, software, firmware, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing disciplines.
• Plan and execute system integration, verification, and validation activities, including test strategies and test plans.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot system issues, and lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage technical risks, change impact assessments, FMEA activities, compliance, reliability, and product sustainability.
• Support project planning, regulatory submissions, audits, customer interactions, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of systems engineering or equivalent multidisciplinary engineering experience.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional technical projects or products.
• Hands-on experience with requirements management, system architecture, and system integration and verification.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and systems-thinking skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or industrial engineering.
• Familiarity with INCOSE, the V-model, MBSE, SysML, and requirements tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion.
