Medical Editor (Medical Communications)

Location: Canada; ideally hybrid from the Toronto office, with remote candidates outside Toronto considered

Salary: CAD 64,000–77,000 per year

What you will do

• Edit medical copy for spelling, grammar, punctuation, stylistic consistency, and readability.
• Maintain copy decks documenting changes, style decisions, source materials, and referencing requirements.
• Review information architecture, wireframes, and functional specifications for branding, flow, and editorial accuracy.
• Proofread designs and builds, checking copy completeness, formatting, layout, and comprehension.
• Review scripts, storyboards, and animation work for content completeness and client feedback.
• Adapt existing medical copy and write new copy with research support from a medical writer.

Requirements

• BA/BSc degree or five years of related industry experience.
• At least three years of copywriting or editing experience.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple deadline-driven tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Inquisitive, adaptable, results-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.

Nice to have

• Previous pharmaceutical or agency experience.
