QA Analyst (VR/AR)

Location: Onsite in San Francisco, California; the successful candidate must be located in the Bay Area.

Salary: $60,800–$81,500 per year, with potential bonus and/or long-term incentive units plus benefits.

Industrial Light & Magic is a visual effects and immersive entertainment studio developing experiences across VR, AR, and location-based platforms.

What you will do

• Perform manual build verification, regression, performance, and general testing.
• Implement test plans, execute test cases and scripts, and track software and product defects.
• Work directly with development teams and support Designers and Engineers with gameplay and game-balance analysis.
• Refine and improve testing procedures and test plans.
• Test and verify software and internal tools.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a QA Analyst, Compatibility Technician, Development Tester, or in a related role in the game industry.
• Experience testing PC, console, and mobile games, including iOS and Android.
• Strong knowledge of JIRA or equivalent bug and issue tracking tools.
• Ability to follow rigorous QA processes, evaluate complex processes, and suggest improvements.
• Clear oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently.

Nice to have

• Experience testing mobile hardware devices, VR, or network connectivity.
• Previous experience with Unreal Engine.
