TL;DR
Staff QA Engineer I (AI): Designing and governing manual, automated, and agentic testing workflows for software products with an accent on AI-assisted quality practices, MCP-based test generation, and measurable testing outcomes. Focus on establishing validation standards, diagnosing regression drift and unstable automation, and scaling reliable test coverage across Product, Engineering, MLOps, and platform teams.
Location: Remote, Brazil

What you will do
- Lead AI adoption and operationalization across QA squads, designing AI-enhanced testing workflows and measuring quality, coverage, defect detection, and efficiency outcomes.
- Define safe and reliable standards for AI use in test pipelines, regression systems, validation workflows, and human-in-the-loop processes.
- Design and govern agentic testing workflows using Model Context Protocol technologies such as Maestro MCP and Playwright MCP.
- Evaluate emerging AI testing technologies and lead root-cause analysis of false positives, regression drift, unstable automation, and other quality issues.
- Partner with MLOps, platform, Product, and Engineering teams to establish production quality baselines and scalable validation strategies.
- Mentor QA and engineering professionals while communicating testing outcomes, technical risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering across manual and automated testing.
- Proficiency with automated testing frameworks including Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, or JUnit.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or CircleCI and bug tracking or test management tools such as JIRA or TestRail.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing, agentic workflows, MCP-based test generation and execution, and measurable AI ROI evaluation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Must be based in Brazil. An updated resume translated to English is required for consideration.
Nice to have
- Experience coaching senior engineers on squad-level AI operational impact.
- Experience building reusable AI operational assets such as prompt libraries, validation checklists, triage runbooks, and agentic playbooks.
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
