Staff Data Scientist - Payments (Fintech)

Location: United States of America; remote role

Salary: $195,000–$257,500 base pay per year

What you will do

• Design foundational datasets, metrics, and analytical frameworks for the Payments team.
• Analyze customer behavior, product adoption, and transaction activity to improve payment experiences and support business growth.
• Research onchain payment ecosystems, blockchain transaction data, and competitive payment solutions.
• Lead strategic analyses for product innovation, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
• Build scalable reporting, dashboards, automation, and self-service data solutions using SQL, Python, and business intelligence tools.
• Communicate findings through visualizations and data storytelling while partnering with Product, Engineering, Operations, Business, and senior leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and programming experience in Python or R.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, experimentation, causal inference, and quantitative methods.
• Experience independently leading large-scale analytical and data science initiatives from ambiguous problems to measurable outcomes.
• Ability to influence product strategy and senior stakeholders through data-driven recommendations.
• Experience building scalable data products, analytical frameworks, and self-service capabilities with strong attention to data quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments products, payment networks, fintech, or financial services platforms.
• Experience analyzing blockchain datasets, onchain transaction activity, and public ledger data.
