Systems Engineer (C/JavaScript)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain native modules (e.g., bare-bluetooth, bare-tcp, bare-fs) end to end.
• Write C native addons to bridge platform APIs into JavaScript.
• Manage cross-platform build toolchains for macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
• Maintain CI pipelines and resolve platform-specific build failures.
• Contribute to the Bare runtime core, including module and threading systems.
• Debug native addon issues across diverse OS and device targets.

Requirements

• Strong C programming skills with experience in native code across platforms.
• Advanced JavaScript skills and deep understanding of Node.js internals.
• Experience building native addons for Node.js or similar runtimes (N-API, node-gyp).
• Familiarity with libuv or asynchronous I/O frameworks.
• Proficiency in cross-compilation and system APIs (Bluetooth, networking, filesystem).
• Excellent English communication skills.
