TL;DR
Inspection Engineer – Pressure Equipment (Pressure Equipment Inspection): Conducting statutory inspections of pressure vessels, piping systems, safety accessories, and containment systems across UK customer sites with an accent on PED, PESR, ADR, TPED, and TPER compliance. Focus on independently assessing inspection findings, producing technical reports, managing safe inspection activities, and providing regulatory guidance to industrial clients.
Location: UK field based, predominantly covering West Midlands, Cambridgeshire and Oxfordshire; regular travel to customer sites is required.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30.
Salary: Competitive, plus company vehicle or allowance and benefits.

What you will do
- Inspect pressure equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, safety accessories, and containment systems.
- Apply PED, PESR, ADR, TPED, and TPER requirements during statutory inspections.
- Assess findings independently and produce technical reports in line with procedures and regulatory standards.
- Manage inspection activities safely, including risk assessments, health and safety legislation, and safe systems of work.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues and customers on pressure equipment compliance.
- Deliver commercially focused inspection services while supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Experience inspecting pressure equipment in engineering, inspection, manufacturing, process, petrochemical, or industrial environments.
- Engineering Technician qualification, ONC with relevant experience, or a recognised engineering apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
- Strong understanding of PED 2014/68/EU and PESR/PSSR.
- Experience delivering statutory inspections and preparing technical reports.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
- Understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
Nice to have
- HNC or HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution and evidence of CPD.
- Knowledge of SAFed technical guidance and dangerous goods regulations.
- Specialist qualifications such as LEEA, CCSNG Passport to Safety, IOSH Working Safely, IPAF, Confined Space, Working at Height, or Wire Rope Examiner certifications.
- Experience in accredited inspection environments and quality management systems.
