Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Chicago office, United States

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 annual base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Improve application deployment patterns across containerized and non-containerized workloads.
• Build self-service infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible.
• Drive CI/CD improvements and modern software delivery practices.
• Enhance monitoring and alerting with a focus on proactive capacity management and early failure detection.
• Research and implement technologies for container orchestration, workload management, and system visibility.
• Participate in on-call support, maintain infrastructure security, and automate responses to trade-critical issues.

Requirements

• Experience supporting mission-critical, high-performance trading systems.
• Strong Kubernetes experience, including deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Proficiency with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and observability.
• Solid Python skills and hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform/Terragrunt.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with TLS, multicast, WebSockets, AWS, and the ability to accommodate occasional off-hours calls and escalations.
