Software Quality Assurance Engineer / Software Engineer in Test (QA Automation)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; working hours should provide meaningful overlap with the US Eastern time zone. In-person onboarding and/or identity verification may be required.

Salary: 126,000–184,800 RON starting base salary.

What you will do

• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities and contribute to test strategy, product quality, and release readiness.
• Create test plans and test cases based on product requirements and real-world customer workflows.
• Perform functional, exploratory, integration, regression, and system testing across desktop and cloud-based components.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and troubleshoot defects using logs, debugging tools, telemetry, and diagnostic data.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and contribute them to CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, Product Support, and engineering teams to improve product quality and post-release customer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Up to 2 years of professional, internship, co-op, academic, or project experience in software development, testing, engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• Basic understanding of test cases, test plans, defect reporting, and debugging.
• Experience with or coursework in Python, C#, JavaScript, Java, or a similar programming or scripting language.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse, globally distributed team.

Nice to have

• Experience with software quality assurance, automated testing tools, or testing frameworks.
• Exposure to CI/CD concepts, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and Windows or Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, hirify.global Revit, BIM models, or the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry.
• Experience using AI-assisted development or generative AI tools for code, test cases, test data, troubleshooting, or technical documentation.
