Mission Operator (Automotive)

Location: Greenville, South Carolina, United States; requires local and multi-day travel across the United States, including air travel.

What you will do

• Drive autonomous test vehicles on local missions of up to 300–400 miles and extended missions with up to 50% travel.
• Work rotating schedules and complete vehicle start-up, system engagement, disengagement, and shutdown procedures.
• Monitor and troubleshoot vehicle software and hardware systems while on the road.
• Execute development testing according to strict safety and compliance protocols.
• Maintain detailed vehicle-performance reports and provide engineers with feedback on system behavior.
• Represent the organization professionally while prioritizing the safety of all road users.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and at least two years of employment experience.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence and an acceptable driving record, verified through recurring motor vehicle record checks.
• Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Ability to pass ten-panel drug screening and criminal background checks before hiring and periodically thereafter.
• Comfort with long hours of driving, close-quarters work, rotating schedules, and limited oversight.
• Computer proficiency, basic software and hardware troubleshooting skills, reliability, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience in technical driving, fleet operations, or vehicle-testing environments.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and data-logging tools.
• Experience with Jira, Slack, Driver Schedule, or similar work-management tools.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree.
