Focus on supervising motion-editing artists, troubleshooting proprietary toolsets, standardising department operations across global studio sites, and mentoring cross-site teams.
Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at the company-designated location

What you will do
- Oversee daily task management for Motion Edit artists processing, cleaning, refining, and assigning motion-capture shots.
- Lead the retargeting and blending of human joint movements onto differently sized digital skeletons while preserving realistic physics, momentum, and weight.
- Protect the actor’s performance by ensuring emotional nuances, facial tics, and physical intentions are accurately transferred to CGI characters.
- Review shots for foot sliding, intersecting geometry, jittery joint pops, and other technical issues before handoff.
- Collaborate with Animation, Mocap, Crowd, Production, Virtual Production, and VFX Supervisors to align motion data with the director’s vision.
- Manage department setup, standardisation, daily operations, training, and mentoring across multiple studio sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience in high-end film VFX and an up-to-date showreel.
- Proficient knowledge of retargeting and blending techniques for motion-captured performances.
- Previous experience with Maya, MotionBuilder, Blender, and/or Nuance, including prior Mocap animation and Maya experience.
- Previous experience managing and supervising teams.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, with a sharp eye for motion, timing, posture, and technical issues.
- A current resume and a demo reel, shot breakdown, or equivalent work sample are required with the application.

- Experience using Linux and Vicon Shogun Post.
