Materials Handler (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents in Canada and be able to apply for registration under Controlled Goods Regulations.

What you will do

• Deliver raw materials, components, and packaging supplies to production lines according to production schedules.
• Manage Kanban replenishment and support just-in-time production while preventing shortages and overstock.
• Receive shipments, verify quantities and condition, inspect discrepancies, and enter receipts into ERP/WMS systems.
• Label, store, organize, and handle materials safely to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
• Remove finished goods, scrap, and empty containers from production areas and maintain Kanban storage standards.
• Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and regular audits to maintain inventory accuracy.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
• Familiarity with inventory systems, scanners, or ERP/WMS tools.
• Problem-solving ability, particularly with inventory discrepancies and material shortages.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22 kg) regularly and perform standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Comfort working onsite in a manufacturing environment with noise and temperature variation.
• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is required for Controlled Goods registration.

Nice to have

• Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or tuggers.
• Experience with receiving, inventory control, or cycle counting.
• Exposure to Kanban or just-in-time inventory systems.
