COMMS/Network System Architect (d/m/f)

Location: Manching, Germany; the role is based in the Airbus Military Aircraft Engineering site.

What you will do

• Analyze and break down customer needs and requirements at avionics system level.
• Assess airborne candidate technologies and design single- and multi-platform interacting sensor systems.
• Develop and mature system and software architectures for collaborative sensor systems within the FCAS program.
• Implement prototypes and demonstrators on future avionics hardware platforms and verify the developed technologies.
• Participate in research and development projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Present results to internal and external project partners.

Requirements

• PhD, Master’s degree, or equivalent in electrical engineering, mechatronics, aeronautical engineering, computer science, informatics, or a related field.
• Strong academic background in sensor data processing, sensor data fusion, and sensor management.
• Experience with embedded or hardware-near software development, preferably for airborne mission systems.
• Programming skills in C, C++, Java, Ada, and Python, plus Linux, GCC, and make scripts.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in an international project environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Interest or experience in cooperative systems, cognitive robotics, autonomy, and artificial intelligence.
• Previous application of the listed programming and development tools to embedded systems.
