Software Development Engineer III (React Native)

Location: Hybrid, on campus in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, United States

Salary: $111,900–$190,200 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain React Native mobile applications.
• Build and enhance mobile features for Premera’s next-generation application suite.
• Contribute to technical design decisions focused on scalability, performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Write clean, testable, and documented code in an agile delivery environment.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, engineers, and delivery partners.
• Participate in pair programming, peer reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and production defect resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on React Native mobile application development experience.
• Experience with iOS or Android development and mobile platform constraints.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and mobile security best practices.
• Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in an agile, collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and delivering production-scale mobile applications.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, modern JavaScript frameworks, and mobile performance optimization.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with backend services and APIs.
• Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated environment.
