Advanced Engineer - Tool Engineering (Automotive)

Location: Bangalore, India; hybrid with a minimum of three in-office days per week

What you will do

• Own the deployment, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, optimization, and lifecycle management of ALM and engineering tools across global Car Audio programs.
• Administer DOORS Next, Polarion, Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, Jama, PREEvision, and Enterprise Architect.
• Collaborate with Central Digital, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, DevOps, and quality teams on tool strategies, integrations, roadmaps, and security controls.
• Develop Python, PowerShell, and Bash automation to improve operational efficiency and engineering workflows.
• Provide L2/L3 technical support, manage access and licensing, and maintain backups and disaster recovery.
• Support compliance with Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO/SAE 21434 requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in ALM, engineering tool administration, toolchain management, or related engineering systems roles.
• Experience administering enterprise ALM environments, including IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, DOORS Next, Polarion, Jira, and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, the Automotive V-Model, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and requirements traceability.
• Hands-on experience with Git, SVN, enterprise tool integrations, and Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle administration and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting automotive product development organizations and large-scale tool deployments or migrations.
• Expertise in PLM ecosystems, workflow customization, and advanced traceability implementations.
• Experience with ClearCase, Perforce, CodeSonar, Bamboo, RTC/EWM, or similar automotive engineering tools.
