Lead Software Engineer (API Integrations)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location; incentive compensation may also include a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities for commercial banking requirements.
• Translate business requirements into system and application designs aligned with technology roadmaps.
• Design and document technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces, and API integrations.
• Lead multiple complex technology solutions, driving best practices and continuous improvement.
• Lead design review sessions and align stakeholders, project teams, and architecture direction.
• Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing and problem solving.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting applications.
• Experience working across front end, backend, API integrations, security, and cloud infrastructure in complex banking enterprise ecosystems.
• Experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, including C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, JSON, Entity Framework, LINQ, and ASP.NET Web Forms/MVC.
• Experience developing enterprise-grade web applications with React and integrating backend logic with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
• Experience with C#, VB.NET, SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, and Node.js.
• Experience with SQL MI and SQL Server databases; ETL tools including SSIS, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory; and CI/CD tools including JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with ASP.NET Core Identity, Entra ID, OAuth, OpenID, and access integrations.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience and understanding of cloud-native design, resiliency, and secure deployment patterns, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor/Application Insights, and Entra ID/Azure AD.
• Ability to work with compliance, audit, and operational requirements in enterprise banking platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Fenergo CLM or similar client lifecycle, onboarding, KYC, or AML platforms.
• Architecture consulting and hands-on implementation experience with the Fen-X SaaS platform, Salesforce CRM, and internal or third-party applications.
• Familiarity with master data management and customer/entity hierarchy solutions.
• Experience designing systems for high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-environment promotion.
