Purchasing Officer (Fresh Produce)

Location: Sydney, Australia — hybrid with 3 days in the office. The role requires flexibility to work partial weekend hours or monitor purchasing and replenishment activities as needed.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end purchasing, planning, and purchase order execution across allocated fresh produce categories.
• Translate customer demand and operational requirements into accurate, timely ordering decisions across fulfilment centres.
• Work with the Sourcing team to align supplier capability, availability, and commercial outcomes.
• Monitor inventory, service levels, availability, and waste performance.
• Drive ordering discipline, purchasing cadence, and continuous improvement.
• Identify supply and inventory risks and implement proactive actions.

Requirements

• Experience in purchasing or planning.
• Strong commercial judgement when balancing cost, availability, and waste.
• Confident stakeholder management across suppliers and internal teams.
• Data-driven approach and strong attention to detail.
• Flexibility to support partial weekend hours or monitor operational purchasing and replenishment activities.
