TL;DR

Category Specialist (Procurement): Managing strategic sourcing, category development, contracts, and supplier performance across defined procurement sub-categories with an accent on cost reduction, compliance, and sustainable procurement. Focus on analyzing spend data, negotiating contracts, improving operational efficiency, and partnering with stakeholders across the business.

Location: Hybrid role based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia

What you will do

Support portfolio strategies and lead category development, strategic sourcing, RFXs, and contract negotiations for defined sub-categories.
Manage contract lifecycle plans and supplier relationship and performance management.
Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, operational efficiency, and tail spend management.
Partner with stakeholders across the business to guide procurement decisions and promote Procurement Policy compliance.
Conduct market research and spend analysis to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
Champion sustainable procurement and Supplier Diversity initiatives.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in category management, sourcing, or procurement.
Experience developing and implementing commercial strategies.
Strong knowledge of procurement practices, contract negotiations, supplier management, and e-purchasing platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders including Executive Committee, Legal, Risk and Compliance, and Finance.
Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from Sydney or Melbourne, Australia.

Nice to have

Strong Coupa experience.
Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field.
CIPS membership.
Experience in construction and fitout, capital equipment, marketing, maintenance repairs and operations, corporate services, or packaging and consumables.
