Senior Software Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid, one day a week at Glasgow Pacific Quay, Salford Dock House, or London Broadcasting House, United Kingdom

Salary: £63,000–£68,000 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain systems and infrastructure supporting hirify.global mobile app development for iOS and Android.
• Build, maintain, and acquire services that help mobile engineering teams work faster and align on technology and processes.
• Support the full product lifecycle from requirements through release and ongoing production support.
• Gather requirements, provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the hirify.global.
• Participate in agile practices, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor more junior colleagues and contribute to high-performing engineering teams.

Requirements

• Experience building with AWS, including CodeBuild, CodePipeline, EC2, Lambda, Docker, and CloudWatch.
• Experience supporting production systems, including reliability, monitoring, live incident response, and post-incident reviews.
• Strong coding practices covering testing, security, pull request feedback, and documentation.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical groups.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues, improving team processes, and helping build high-performing teams.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is checked as part of employment screening.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of native mobile app development.
• Experience using macOS as a CI build environment.
• Google Cloud Platform administration, including Firebase.
• CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Python development with automated testing experience.
