Senior Software Engineer (Physical AI)

Location: London, England

Salary: £98,000–£130,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits subject to eligibility.

What you will do

• Contribute to the transition from monolithic systems to distributed architecture.
• Design and implement agentic-ready platform architecture, including support for AI products and MCP server integrations.
• Develop production-quality Python components and distributed compute services.
• Build reliable workflow orchestration patterns and contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment.
• Support observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, performance, scaling, and SRE practices.
• Mentor engineers, collaborate with product and engineering peers, and participate in technical decisions and hiring.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with Python, distributed systems, backend services, API and service-interface design.
• Experience with deployment, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, incident response, and production reliability.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms; AWS is preferred.
• Experience with authentication and authorization, including OAuth, and secure-by-default development.
• Strong technical communication, collaboration, ownership, problem-solving, and mentorship skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Temporal, Airflow, Kubeflow, or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience with Spark, Athena, Ray, or similar data processing frameworks.
• Experience with Azure or GCP.
