Head of Internal Controls – Compliance, People & Sustainability

Location: Hybrid work from Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the United Arab Emirates; locations include Berlin, Munich, and Erlangen

What you will do

• Strengthen integrity, accountability, and responsible business conduct across the organization.
• Partner with Compliance, HR, Sustainability, Governance, and Legal leaders to manage organizational risks.
• Enhance control effectiveness across people processes, compliance programs, and governance activities.
• Support sustainability and ESG objectives through scalable control frameworks.
• Drive process improvements and data-enabled assurance across non-financial risk areas.
• Identify emerging risks and embed controls into critical business processes and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Law, Sustainability, Compliance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Compliance, Governance, Internal Controls, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or HR-related functions.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks, people processes, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
• Fluent English required.

• Knowledge of sustainability, ESG, or non-financial reporting frameworks.
