Principal Software Engineer (Java): Designing secure, enterprise-scale distributed systems and cloud-native platforms for Public Sector initiatives with an accent on microservices architecture, solution design, and technical leadership. Focus on translating ambiguous business requirements into implementation strategies, leading presales and discovery, and guiding project launches through architecture standards, security, and delivery planning.
Location: Europe, Ukraine; remote work available

What you will do
- Participate in presales activities, tenders, RFI/RFP analysis, discovery sessions, and technical workshops.
- Translate business requirements into scalable Java-based architectures and implementation strategies.
- Design distributed systems, microservices platforms, cloud infrastructure, secure integrations, and modernization approaches.
- Prepare technical proposals, estimates, architecture diagrams, delivery assumptions, and implementation roadmaps.
- Present technical solutions to customers and support Sales and Delivery teams during project initiation.
- Establish engineering standards, guide teams during early delivery, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong technical leadership responsibilities.
- Expert Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture skills.
- Experience with REST APIs, event-driven systems, Kafka or similar messaging technologies, relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of application security, monitoring, logging, observability, solution estimation, and architecture design.
- Upper-intermediate English and strong customer-facing communication skills required.
