Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The role is based at the Long Beach location and may require occasional evening or weekend work to support critical mission milestones. U.S. export-control eligibility is required: the candidate must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
Salary: $188,600–$267,700 per year for the Staff DevOps Engineer level in California.

What you will do
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines that automate the build, testing, and release of frontend and backend mission software.
- Collaborate with Flight Software teams on release management and integrated testing across physical and simulated flight assets.
- Design, migrate, and operate secure, stable cloud environments for mission software services.
- Define operational requirements and reliability practices, including monitoring, service maintenance, and continuous uptime.
- Orchestrate chaos testing, load testing, and automated regression testing to validate service capabilities.
- Build an internal developer portal with runbooks, incident response management, an API registry, and service health metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of application development experience with Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience maintaining large-scale, high-criticality data systems measured in terabytes and kilohertz with strict SLAs.
- Extensive experience with cloud solutions and Terraform.
- Deep experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including administering, configuring, and operating multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong understanding of OSI and Linux networking, VPCs, transit gateways, subnetting, routing, prioritization, and cross-functional communication.
Nice to have
- Expertise in distributed Golang applications and Kafka cluster configuration.
- Experience setting incident-response and remediation strategies.
- Experience implementing SAST and SCA scanners for security and code-quality standards.
- Experience with self-hosted observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
