Director, Loads & Dynamics (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead, scale, and develop the Loads & Dynamics organization, including multiple engineering teams and managers.
• Define the technical strategy, roadmap, priorities, staffing plans, budgets, and resource allocation for the discipline.
• Own loads and environmental predictions, dynamic models, load cases, and methodologies across spacecraft programs and product lines.
• Oversee qualification, certification, vibration, modal, acoustic, and shock testing, including test planning and verification.
• Lead model development, correlation, post-processing standards, failure investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Partner with Structures, Propulsion, Thermal, Avionics, GNC, Manufacturing, Test, Systems Engineering, and Program Management to deliver flight hardware and support operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or other safety-critical industries.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers or leading multiple teams.
• Extensive experience with loads and environments prediction, structural dynamics, vibration, acoustic, shock, and coupled systems analyses for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or other flight-critical systems.
• Expertise in structural dynamics, finite element methods, systems integration, and tools such as FEMAP/NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. nationality, lawful permanent residency, or qualifying asylee or refugee status.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Dynamics, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading Loads & Dynamics organizations across multiple spacecraft, launch vehicle, or flight-critical programs.
• Technical authority-level knowledge of modal analysis, quasi-static loads, random and sine vibration, shock, acoustic environments, transient dynamic response, and coupled loads analysis.
• Experience interfacing with NASA, DoD, FAA, or commercial spaceflight customers on technical and certification matters.
