Sr. Loads and Dynamics Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and manage mechanical loads and environments for static, vibration, shock, and acoustic conditions.
• Generate mass acceleration curves and apply preliminary design and design-loads analysis methods.
• Build finite element models and simulations using aerospace industry methods.
• Perform model reduction and deliver models for coupled loads analyses.
• Support and own dynamics test campaigns, including model correlation for hardware development and verification.
• Analyze modal survey, sine and random vibration, acoustic, and shock tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in spacecraft dynamics modeling, loads analysis, or testing.
• Experience with NASTRAN or a comparable finite element analysis solver for statics and dynamics simulations.
• Experience with Femap or similar finite element pre- and post-processing tools.
• Experience with MATLAB or a comparable engineering analysis tool for data analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional leadership in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a STEM-related field.
• Experience developing or integrating specialized engineering analysis tools, including Femap API or MATLAB integrations.
• Experience applying analytical calculations, numerical simulation, testing, and engineering judgment to spacecraft dynamics problems.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers, contractors, or interns.
