Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Leipzig, Erfurt or Ilmenau, Germany, with office attendance 3 days per week; remote work is possible within Germany with an office visit approximately once per month.

What you will do

• Design, deploy and manage secure cloud, on-premises and hybrid infrastructure across AWS, Azure or equivalent platforms.
• Build reusable Terraform modules and maintain Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation.
• Deploy and operate OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms, including networking, storage, certificates, RBAC, secrets and workloads.
• Implement monitoring, security, backup, high availability, disaster recovery and cloud cost optimization.
• Support migrations, production go-live, troubleshooting, technical escalations, production-readiness checks and formal handover.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, security teams, DBAs, network specialists, project teams and customers while documenting standards and runbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering or systems engineering.
• Proven ability to build and implement customer or production environments end to end, including migrations and go-live activities.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or an equivalent enterprise platform, plus on-premises or hybrid infrastructure.
• Production experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes, strong Linux administration, networking, IAM, storage, databases, load balancing, DNS, firewalls and TLS.
• Strong Terraform experience, including reusable modules, state management and controlled infrastructure changes, plus CI/CD automation with Ansible, Python or Bash/Shell.
• Good English skills are required. Candidates must work from Germany and meet the stated hybrid office-attendance arrangement.

• Advanced OpenShift, EKS, AKS or comparable enterprise container-platform experience.
• Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, Flux, GitOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions.
• Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor or comparable monitoring tools.
• Hybrid-cloud or multi-cloud landing zones, migrations, upgrades, modernization, certifications, FinOps or regulated-environment experience.
• Utilities, energy, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, smart metering, HES or MDMS experience.
