Worker's Compensation Team Leader - 12 month FTC

What you will do

• Lead and manage a state-based workers’ compensation claims team.
• Oversee end-to-end claim processing, technical decisions, case management, and compliance for the Woolworths self-insurance account.
• Coach and mentor team members to improve skills, claim outcomes, and professional development.
• Support case managers with complex stakeholder interactions and maintain a customer-focused claims experience.
• Identify claims-related risks, coordinate mitigation strategies, and communicate legislative and regulatory changes.
• Facilitate team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading teams in self-insured workers’ compensation schemes or similar environments.
• Proven expertise managing workers’ compensation claims under self-insurance frameworks and relevant legislation.
• Strong case management experience, including balancing claims outcomes, cost control, and worker wellbeing.
• Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, decision-making, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology, injury treatment processes, and claims management IT systems.
• A territory or relevant health-related qualification is highly desirable.
