Senior / Staff Build Reliability Engineer (Avionics)

What you will do

• Own build reliability for avionics hardware and work centers, including manufacturability, build readiness, and flight readiness.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and mission assurance teams on lifecycle quality and verification plans.
• Define hardware introduction readiness criteria and drive the retirement of production and build risks.
• Mature avionics production processes, documentation, equipment, tooling, controls, data collection, and training.
• Lead containment, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and recovery plans for high-impact avionics issues.
• Use build data and quality reviews to improve reliability, prevent escapes, reduce costs, and mentor teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, reliability, or design within aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability hardware environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with executive visibility and influencing technical direction across organizations.
• Expertise in reliability engineering, quality systems, and standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Advanced knowledge of RCA, FMEA, SPC, and control plans; strong technical depth in avionics design, manufacturing, integration, or test.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience.
• Proven success driving systemic improvements and shaping engineering strategy.
