Director, Data Science - Alternate Solutions Group (12 Months Term) (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Develop and execute the Data team strategy in alignment with the Alternate Solutions Group and Global Payment Services objectives.
• Lead data-driven initiatives supporting cross-border and domestic payments, Global Money Transfer, revenue growth, and client value.
• Apply statistics, machine learning, AI/ML toolkits, and optimization to transform business challenges into effective solutions.
• Improve products and processes by identifying productivity opportunities and managing implementation.
• Collaborate with sales, delivery, technology teams, business partners, and external clients to launch new capabilities.
• Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing data science team.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in AI/machine learning, data science, or advanced analytics.
• Proficiency with modern data science and machine learning toolkits, including Pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyCaret, and Hugging Face Transformers.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, business planning, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Experience developing strategic team goals and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the specified location and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.
