Location: Berlin, Germany; 80% office presence and 20% mobile working. Includes 10 days of work from abroad and administrative guidance for relocation and visa processes.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end development of high-traffic Android news applications.
• Design and evolve modular architectures that remain maintainable and reliable at scale.
• Build, test, release, and improve CI/CD and rollout pipelines.
• Raise engineering quality through code reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing across Android teams.
• Shape features with product, design, and editorial stakeholders from idea through release.
• Evaluate and apply AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on Android engineering experience, including multiple apps shipped at scale.
• Strong Kotlin and solid Java skills with deep knowledge of Jetpack libraries.
• Practical experience with MVVM/Clean Architecture, Coroutines/Flow, dependency injection, and unit/integration testing.
• Experience with multi-module codebases and long-term maintainability patterns.
• Experience with Baseline Profiles, Gradle convention plugins, or equivalent build-system practices.
• Strong CI/CD, release engineering, and cross-functional communication skills.
