Workers Compensation Claims Examiner

Location: Atlanta, GA, United States; fully remote work is stated, but candidates should be comfortable with on-site presence for collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.

What you will do

• Manage a caseload of lost-time workers’ compensation claims from assignment through resolution.
• Investigate coverage, liability, and exposure, and maintain accurate reserves.
• Manage litigation, coordinate with defense counsel, and negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys.
• Monitor medical treatment, claim progression, payments, and resolution strategies.
• Maintain organized claim documentation and communicate with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable state workers’ compensation statutes and complete required training.

Requirements

• 3+ years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience.
• Experience managing lost-time workers’ compensation claims in Georgia.
• Experience working with self-insured accounts.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• High school diploma or equivalent, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new systems.

Nice to have

• Litigation management and settlement negotiation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Adjuster license or ability to obtain required licensing.
