Supervisor, Orbital Tube Welding (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. The role requires significant time on the production floor and may require evening or weekend work for critical program milestones.

Salary: $94,000–$133,860 USD per year.

What you will do

• Supervise and support technicians performing fluid systems manufacturing, providing daily direction, technical guidance, and feedback.
• Execute and sustain orbital tube welding, tube bending, structural assembly, inspection, and related fabrication processes.
• Maintain work instructions, routings, inspection steps, and ERP/MRP production updates.
• Partner with Quality and Design Engineering to investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide manufacturability feedback and support transitions from development builds to repeatable production.
• Monitor production performance, troubleshoot issues on the floor, and improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and workflow.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with metallic structures or assemblies; 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong understanding of welding and metallic fabrication, including aerospace TIG, plasma, and repair processes.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, production systems, aerospace standards, production documentation, NDE techniques, and quality systems.
• Experience leading or supervising engineers or technicians and resolving manufacturing non-conformances through root-cause and corrective-action processes.
• Proficiency with CAD systems such as NX and Teamcenter, GD&T, complex engineering drawings, and ERP, MRP, or MES systems.
• Must be a U.S. person under U.S. export-control regulations or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a comparable STEM field.
• Experience with aerospace tooling or structural fabrication from concept through production.
• Experience working in fast-paced development environments with evolving designs and requirements.
