Engineering Manager, Data (FinTech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; onsite with four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office.

Salary: $199,000–$275,000 base salary per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the Data team in building a scalable, self-serve data foundation.
• Drive AI-driven, data-centric initiatives and advance the data platform.
• Partner with Analytics, Product, Data Science, Marketing, and other stakeholders to deliver trusted, secure data products.
• Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
• Establish engineering excellence through data quality, governance, continuous improvement, and operational reliability.
• Prioritize work, resolve issues, remove delivery obstacles, and maintain engineering quality and delivery velocity.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience leading Data Engineering teams.
• Experience building scalable, AI-ready data platforms, semantic models, and trusted data products.
• Strong partnership experience with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Marketing teams.
• Experience with data quality, governance, CI/CD, and operational reliability.
• Experience with Growth and Marketing data platforms, including attribution, funnels, and experimentation.
• Experience supporting solutions built with Spark, Snowflake, data warehouses, data lakes, key-value stores, and dbt.
