Location: Remote within the United States only; candidates must be based in or near the Midwest, greater Washington, DC, area, or Delta Region priority areas. Travel to AIR Opportunity Fund events is expected up to 30%. U.S. territories are excluded.
Salary: $105,000–$130,000 USD annually

What you will do
- Manage assigned program initiatives from planning through implementation and evaluation.
- Coordinate multiple projects, workstreams, meetings, convenings, site visits, and stakeholder activities.
- Conduct research, landscape analyses, and environmental scans to inform funding decisions and program priorities.
- Synthesize research, field insights, and grantee learnings into reports, briefings, and presentations.
- Build and maintain relationships with grantees, community organizations, researchers, public agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Review grant proposals, conduct due diligence, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for learning and improvement.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public policy, public health, social sciences, education, nonprofit management, community development, or a related field.
- At least four years of professional experience combining applied research with philanthropy, grantmaking, social impact investing, or related funding experience.
- Subject-matter expertise in workforce and economic opportunity, health, and/or youth pathways.
- Experience using research, evaluation, or data-driven approaches to inform programs, funding decisions, strategy, or organizational learning.
- Strong research, analytical, communication, relationship-building, project management, and organizational skills.
- Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the Deep South, Cleveland, Chicago, and/or Washington, DC communities and regions.
- Experience working with community-based organizations, research institutions, public agencies, philanthropic organizations, or cross-sector partnerships.
