LearnVector is building a trustworthy AI guide for learning, founded by Andrew Ng and backed by a $100 million investment from Coursera.

What you will do

  • Invent and prototype AI-native teaching methods with engineers and integrate them into the product.
  • Design the measurement framework for skill gain, retention, and transfer, including product instrumentation.
  • Run learner studies ranging from one-week pilots to longitudinal cohorts and evaluate whether results are meaningful.
  • Build performance assessments and rubrics that measure real competence, validity, and reliability.
  • Set an evidence-based standard for pedagogical decisions across the company.
  • Work with the founding team to shape product decisions and determine which teaching methods should be developed.

Requirements

  • Deep grounding in learning science and research on retrieval, spacing, feedback, transfer, and expertise development.
  • Strong experimental-design and statistical skills, including the ability to design well-powered studies.
  • Research experience with human subjects in laboratory or field settings.
  • Technical fluency with Python or R and the ability to collaborate with engineers on instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication skills for making evidence clear and actionable to non-specialists.

Nice to have

  • PhD in learning sciences, cognitive psychology, education, or a related field, or equivalent research experience.
  • Experience with intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning, or AI-based instruction.
  • Psychometrics and assessment-validity experience, including IRT, rubric calibration, or rater reliability.
  • Experience measuring learning among adult professionals or in workplace contexts.
